It is also called the kindergarten. It comprises of the Pre-Nursery class (play class) and the Kindergarten 1, 2 and 3. It is used to prepare children between the ages of two to six years for primary education.

This class is divided into the lower basic (Primary 1-3) classes and the middle basic (Primary 4-5) classes. In this section, there is the inculcation of permanent literacy and numeracy and the ability to communicate effectively

This is the highest stage of the Universal Basic Education programme (UBE). It runs for three years and at the end, the students will write the Basic Education Certificate Examination. (BECE)

At this Stage, the students should have decided on which course to study in the higher institutions, which in turn, informs their subject area (Arts; humanities, Social Science and Science). This last three years are used to fine tune the skills of the students and equip them for a successful further education
